Why did you chose this city?
New Jersey is an up and coming New York, but with lower living cost. With their new growing committee i wanted to how New Jersey face those challenges and design something that is
attractive to there new growing committee.
What was the waterfront used from in the history
Hoboken was an undeveloped land until the 1600’s when Europeans started to travel
there, then other started to follow. In the 1800’s Colonel Stevens started to develop the
land , making a path way called “The River Walk” which was around a baseball field
back then. By the end of the 19 century, Hoboken had evolved into the major
transportation hub that it is today.
What caused the change at the waterfront?
The idea for the Water front park was first started with former Mayor Anthony Russo in
the late 1990s, and became concrete under the subsequent mayor, David Roberts. In
the 2000’s the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey contributed $24 million for
the demolition of the original Pier C and creation of a waterfront park. Demolition of the
old shipping pier occurred in 2002, and Roberts first promised groundbreaking for the
park in 2005.By the fall of 2007, the City Council approved a $21.2 million bond to fund
construction and work began in December.

The open space that is very kid friendly allowing kid to play around also the great view

The amenities are the open space design, being that Hoboken is up and coming it’s
become very easy to access and having a lot of thing to do there like Shop, Dine, Fishing Pier, Play Area, Water Play area, Rookery – (For the birds) and Promenade. Visitor also can explorer Hoboken rich history and be also to see the great view of the
New York Skyline.

It is in the heart of Hoboken which is up and come just like Red hook,
Brooklyn, it is also very easy to access and has a great view of New York.

The park was not design to withstand a hurricane like hurricane Sandy,
therefor the park was damaged from hurricane Sandy.
