1. Which building typology you are researching?
A museum
2. Why are you researching this building typology?
This is types of building that I have never done before, and I want to try something that is out of my normal element but create something that is very unique. I also wanted something that wasn’t available in the area.
3. What is the specialty of this building type you would like to research i.e.? Museum for dance, school for media…
The museums would be for cars of all kind.
4. What are the examples that you will be researching… list the examples, location and architect (10 examples)
3Gatti Architecture Studio of Rome and Shanghai have won a competition to design an automobile museum in Nanjing, China.

Porsche Museum

5.
What are you goals for working with this building type?
My Goal for this project is to have a museum that isn't so common in New York City. This museum would not only bring people from
all over the city but all over the world, putting red hook on the map. With
this museum being opened in red hook it show that the neighborhood is moving in
a positive direction, this would promote more people to visit, shop, and live
in red hook.
6 .
What is the program elements that you see included at
this point in your building? (may evolve once more research is done)
The type of program that I believe the museum
should be is of one that is able to be interchangeable, for example I want to
be able to categorize all the different type of car from year, make and mode. I
would also want the museum to have a student section, where student promote the
work that they have done, this will give the student a motivate to work toward
their dreams. During different season different type of cars would be at the
museum so there something also new to see at the museum maybe evens someone private
collections, different type of custom car like the famous SEMA show in Las
Vegas. The museum would also have a theater / audition space allowing the car
design and develop a chance to express how they come up with their idea, also
able to have Q and A when they show their new concept cars.
