This is the massing i have been working on since my last post but i will be changing the massing of the building .The reason i want to change the massing is because i want my building to not feel caped in a mass i would like the massing to flow along the space , this would make more people want to visit my site.
Just remember your original concept. It was more fragmented and industrial.
ReplyDeleteDo not loose that.
i am not , i will try out that idea about bring the user into myspace and being more user friendly
DeleteMorning Pedro,
ReplyDeleteI agree with Lia in that it seems to have lost a bit of its original concept. I was expecting the form to replicate that was going on in your concept model, more along the lines of Zaha Hadid/ Daniel Libeskind with bits poking through the skin and looking out to the river, etc... essentially relating more to your site. Was that the original intention?
I quite like the way image 5 draws people in along the street into an entrance area I'm guessing, but it is a little bit stick on at the moment because of the cleanness of your other form. It would probably also be worth seeing how you can do this from the riverside too, including from people walking along the front.
when i started to design my massing i wanted to do something between the bmw welt and mercedes benz museum . i wanted to creat a massing with a turning / curved syle . i want the users to be able to have a view out to the riverside and also have a veiw of great cars.
DeleteMy question is how and why this particular form was derived? I see nothing wrong in having most (or even all) of your building program inside one shell as long as you know why you are doing this. I keep thinking about that great F140 image you posted earlier - car engines encase many different parts but everything is carefully designed to fulfill a particular task.
ReplyDeleteF.
phanos, that is a great point that you bring up, something that i didnt consider before. As i said in the post before the idea come fromthe bmw welt and mercedes benz museum ,i wanted to creat a massing with a turning / curved syle. i think i need to explor both lia and your idea and see which one works better with not only the site but the spaces inside the massing.
DeletePhanos makes a good point about the car engine being wrapped in a skin and I actually saw an article on one of Hadid's similar buildings earlier - http://www.dezeen.com/2014/03/23/zaha-hadid-dongdaemun-design-plaza-seoul/
ReplyDeleteIf you do go down the skin covering everything route, the arrangement and form of internal spaces, and how your building interacts with the site around it becomes even more important. You don't want it to become a building that could just be planted anywhere.
Murph, wow that building looks great, it kinda look like what i design. i think that after looking at that building some big changes have to be made but i think it will only help my project even more . thank you
